Year 6 Wedding Celebrations!

On Friday 6th February Pendoylan Primary School’s Year 6 had a class wedding as part of their R.E. topic of ‘love and trust’! The whole class participated by organising the ceremony and reception and they all played their part extremely well. Tom Collingridge and Hannah Davies were very good sports and kindly offered to be the bride and groom. Father Sion did an excellent job of marrying Tom and Hannah too!

Even the parents and school pupils came along to watch. We would like to thank Mr. Gardener for driving the bride, father of the bride and maid of honour in his very posh Bentley from the school to the church.

After the service was the reception. The maid of honour and best man read out their amusing speeches. We then had food and did some dancing too! It was a lot of fun.

We all had a wonderful time and we would like to thank Mrs Knill-Jones for organising the wedding!

Harvest Thanksgiving and Supporting Pontyclun Food Bank

Harvest is a very important time of the year for Pendoylan School and for the farming community we're a part of. Our children know that it is right to give thanks to God for providing us with what we need, and to the hard working people who produce our delicious food.

This year, to show our gratitude for being lucky enough to have plenty, we decided to collect food donations for the Pontyclun Food Bank to give out to struggling families locally. Mr Bob Kennedy visited our school shared worship to tell us all about the food bank's work and how we could help them.

Our wonderfully generous families responded by collecting a huge amount of food to donate, so we want to thank all of them for their contributions.

Food Bank Donations - Harvest

Mr Kennedy from the Pontyclun Food Bank came to school today to collect our food donations. He was thrilled by how generous you have been and the food will now go towards helping less fortunate local families. The school and everyone at the Food Bank are very grateful. Thank you!

Harvest Festival Service

Our first church service of the year was a joyous celebration of God's provision and the wonderful work farmers and fishermen do to provide us with our food. If you were there, thank you for helping make it such a fantastic occasion.
