Harvest Festival Service
Our first church service of the year was a joyous celebration of God's provision and the wonderful work farmers and fishermen do to provide us with our food. If you were there, thank you for helping make it such a fantastic occasion.

Lynn 'The Leap' Davies Opens Olympic Fortnight
We were thrilled to welcome the illustrious sports journalist Mr. Peter Jackson and Wales' only track and field Olympic gold medallist, Mr. Lynn Davies, to our school on Monday 18th June.
Mr. Davies spoke inspirationally to the children about his wonderful achievements and showed off his stunning gold medal and London 2012 torch. Between them, Mr. Jackson and Mr. Davies regaled the enthralled assembly with training advice and anecdotes from Mr. Davies' career, including the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games where he won gold at the age of 21 with a long jump distance of 8.07m. We measured and marked out the distance in the hall and seeing it is believing it. The distance is astonishing!
Diolch yn fawr Mr. Jackson and Mr. Davies. You opened our Olympic Fortnight fantastically.

Our Very Special Guest Olympian Lynn Davies Strikes Gold!
At the 1966 Commonwealth Games, Welshman Lynn Davies won gold in the long jump to add to his wonderful achievement of winning gold at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Unfortunately we've been unable to secure footage of the Olympic final but here he is in action just 2 years later. The other athlete in the video is Mary Rand; she won gold for England that year too so Great Britain had two world class long jumpers in the 60s.
Lynn Davies has very kindly agreed to visit our school on Monday 18th June to talk to us about his achievements.

Wellies, Onesies and Walking for Sport Relief 2012
A big Pendoylan thank you has to go to everyone in school and at home ('Upstairs' too as the weather was beautiful!) that helped make Friday's Sport Relief celebrations such a success.
The whole school walked at least a mile around the field in wellies and fancy dress and with your generous donations, we raised a fantastic £507.
Thank you.

St. David's Day Eisteddfod 2012
Congratulations to Dewi House (Yellow) on their tight win in our annual Eisteddfod celebrations. With a winning margin of just 8 points, it was the closest competition we've had for many years. Congratulations also to our new 'Bard', Emmanuel Davies, whose beautiful poem, 'Where Is My Love?', won the coveted chair.
Once again it was a fantastic day and we want to thank all the children and parents for their superb efforts. Included below is a selection of photos taken on the day and Emmanuel's winning poem.
Where is My Love?
My love’s in the overwhelming mountains,
Watching over the roaring sea.
My love’s in the crystal clear fountains,
Gushing life into every tree.
Where is my love?
My love is in Wales.
My love’s in the sturdy dragon bold,
Guarding the impenetrable castle.
My love’s in the daffodils gold,
Swaying to the chiming church bells.
Where is my le?
My love is in Wales.
My love’s in the cotton ball sheep,
Grazing peacefully on the fields of hay.
My love’s in the slumbering cows as they sleep,
Living side by side each day.
Where is my love?
My love is n Wales.
My love’s in the golden stretches of sand,
Bordering the ferocious waves.
My love’s in this glorious land,
And in every man that despairs, she saes.
Where is my love?
My love is in Wales.
My love’s in cloudy black mines,
Perched on the edges of hills.
My love’s in the landscape so fine,
Which is so beautiful it gives me chills.
Where is my love?
My love is in Wales.
